ROCHESTER, Mich – The Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's and women's cross country teams are heading to South Bend, Ind. on Friday for the George Paine Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. The men's team will kick off the meet for Oakland in the men's blue division 8k at 10:30 a.m. ET, while the women will follow in the gold division 5k at 11:50 a.m. ET. The Joe Piane Invite is noted as one of the oldest and largest intercollegiate cross country meets in the country and will be ran at the Burke Golf Course.

The men's program is coming off of a team win at the George Dales Invitational, as Senior Wesley Hollowell led the way for the Black and Gold in second-place, finishing with an 8k time of 24:41.20. Tristan Brandenburg and Anthony Hancock followed suit to carry the team with top-10 finishes. On the women's side, freshman Eliza Bush earned herself a podium finish, clocking in at 21:12.30 for second place as the women finished fifth as a team in Kalamazoo.

The Golden Grizzlies last ran in the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame in 2023, where the men finished seventh out of 16 teams and 178 points, while the women also completed the race as a team in seventh place (167 points).
