INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - On Friday the Horizon League released their 2025 #HLWSOC All-League Awards, naming
Brae Cole to the All-League Second Team. Oakland's
Ella Shapiro was named as a Sportsmanship Award finalist.
The redshirt junior from Louisville, Colo. was undoubtedly one of the top talents in the conference, tallying team-highs in goals (6) and assists (2), all from the center back position for the majority of the season.
Accumulating 14 shots on goal, second on the squad, and 26 shots total, third on Oakland, her big-play and scoring ability was in a tier of its own. She also held down the back line of the Golden Grizzlies, leading them to a pair of shutout performances, including becoming the first Horizon League squad to hold Milwaukee to a zero goal match since 2023.
She is the only player in the conference this season with a hat trick performance, tallying three goals against Mercyhurst (8/21). The six points she earned during the match, she became one of just three players to tally six points in a single match.
"It is always a great honor to be recognized by the coaches of the Horizon League with postseason awards. I'm very happy for
Brae Cole on being named to the Horizon League All-Second Team," said Oakland Head Coach Devin Zvosec. "She is so deserving of this recognition after an outstanding season, consistently setting the standard with her work ethic, leadership, and composure in big moments. Brae has been instrumental in driving our culture forward and raising the level of everyone around her. Her impact on and off the field has been massive in moving our program forward, and we couldn't be more proud of her."
Cole looks to lead the Golden Grizzlies to a postseason victory on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. as they travel to ake on no. 3 seed Youngstown State.
