WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO PANTHERS IN HORIZON LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHP SEMIFINALS

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Golden Grizzlies' 2025 season came to an end on Thursday, as they fell to Milwaukee 3-0 in the Horizon League Championship Semifinals at Engelmann Stadium.

The first half began with the Panthers establishing an early advantage. Despite Oakland's attempts to press forward, including a shot by Anuhea Aluli in the fifth minute that went just over. Kiersten White opened the scoring for the home team in the 11th minute, putting Oakland behind early.

Oakland continued to seek an equalizer with Brae Cole forcing a save from the Panthers' goalkeeper, Bella Hollenbach, in the 16th minute. However, they were unable to convert further chances into goals. The half concluded with Oakland trailing the Panthers 1-0.

The possession balanced out in the second half as Oakland began to make more sustained runs towards the goal, but Milwaukee struck again as Karlof scored in the 50th minute to extend the Panthers' lead. Oakland responded with multiple attempts, including shots from Ella Shapiro and Isabella Bierod that missed the mark, and a notable effort by Bella Haynes that was saved.

Despite continued efforts, including shots by Aluli and Cole, Oakland was unable to convert. The Panthers capitalized on their opportunities with a second goal by Emily Petring in the 67th minute. The half concluded with Oakland trailing 3-0, unable to close the gap despite several attempts on goal.

Cole led Oakland in shot attempts, tallying three, including two that were on goal. Anuhea Aluli and Ella Shapiro each tallied two shots each as well in the match.

The overall shot tallies marked 10-to-13 in favor of Milwaukee, and 4-to-6 shots on goal in favor of the Panthers, as Oakland valiantly fought until the last minute, encapsulating a hard fought season by the Golden Grizzlies, and a step forward as a program.
