ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland volleyball team plays host to Horizon League opponent Youngstown State this weekend, Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1 inside the OU Credit Union O'rena. Friday's match will start at 6 p.m., while Saturday is scheduled for a 2 p.m. ET first serve on ESPN+. Neal Ruhl will be on the call for both matches.
The Golden Grizzlies dropped their final midweek match of the season at Cleveland State, 3-1, despite a heavy-serving contest. Oakland served up eight aces on Tuesday night, now in back-to-back matches and their most since playing Eastern Michigan on Sept. 19. Outside hitter Molly Reck led the offense with 11 kills in Cleveland, followed up by middle blocker Grace Cooney with 10 kills – tying her season-high.
Oakland is ranked fifth in the nation (first in the Horizon League) in team attacks/set with 38.35, totaling 3,375 swings for 12th in the NCAA.

Youngstown State is on a five-match win-streak, sitting in fourth place in the Horizon League with a 7-5 league record, posting 11-10 overall. After being swept in the series against Green Bay and Wright State, YSU split with Northern Kentucky and took care of Milwaukee, Robert Morris, and IU Indy this season.
The Penguins are exceeding expectations after being voted last in the #HLVB Preseason Poll earlier this season, and are averaging 16.17 kills/set off of a .243 hitting percentage.The Golden Grizzlies hold the upper edge in the all-time series with Youngstown, 21-10, but have dropped the last two meetings.
