ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Golden Grizzlies prepare for their final two matches of the season, taking on IU Indy and Detroit Mercy as the race for a postseason spot continues.
With sole possession of the sixth seed—the final spot in the Horizon League Championship—Oakland looks to cement its place in the postseason during these final two matches.
Oakland enters the weekend coming off a 3-2 win over Robert Morris in its last outing. In that match, the Golden Grizzlies dominated from start to finish, outshooting the Colonials 18-7 and holding an 11-3 edge in shots on goal. With pieces clicking and a rhythm forming, Oakland may be heating up at the right time, becoming a dangerous team capable of swaying any match in its favor.
SATURDAY, OCT. 25 vs IU INDY | 3 PM | ESPN+
In their final home match of the regular season, Oakland hosts the Jags in a crucial showdown. IU Indy (3-11-2, 2-5-1 HL), who sits three spots below Oakland in the standings, needs a win to keep its postseason hopes alive. With a win against IU Indy on Saturday—plus a loss or tie by Robert Morris—Oakland can officially clinch a spot in the conference championship.
The matchup comes at an opportune time for the Golden Grizzlies, as IU Indy has lost three straight, most recently falling 0-1 to Green Bay.
Despite their record, the Jags are one of the most aggressive teams in the conference, ranking third in both total shots (223) and shots on goal (96) among all Horizon League squads.
Sophomore Keilah Muldrow leads the attack with three goals and two assists this season.
Oakland will look to continue its trend of dominance over IU Indy, holding a 20-5-1 all-time record in the series. The Jags, however, have had recent success, winning two of the last three meetings—including a 3-0 victory in last year's match.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 29 at DETROIT MERCY | 7 PM | ESPN+
Oakland closes out the season with its annual Metro Series matchup, traveling to Detroit Mercy to take on the Titans.
After serving as a surprise upstart in 2024, the Titans have struggled this season, posting a 2-12-2 (0-6-2 HL) record and have been officially eliminated from postseason contention.
In conference play, the Titans have scored just six goals—the second-fewest in the league—while allowing 14, the second-most. It's been a frustrating campaign for Detroit Mercy overall.
A bright spot for the Titans has been Abbey Lodato, whose seven goals rank among the top five in the conference.
Despite winning six of the last eight meetings with Detroit Mercy, Oakland has dropped the last two and will look to get back on top to close the regular season.
With a postseason berth—or even a potential opportunity to host—on the line for Oakland, this matchup could shape up to be one of the most intense Metro Series showdowns in recent history.
