ORLANDO, Fl. – The Oakland Women's Golf team has been selected for the Inaugural More Than Golf Invitational created by the ANNIKA Foundation in partnership with Old Barnwell and will be co-hosted by Augusta University and Columbia University in Aiken, SC.

The ANNIKA Foundation has announced the field for the inaugural More Than Golf Invitational, which will take place at Old Barnwell in Aiken, S.C., March 27-30, 2025. The new women's golf tournament, co-hosted by Augusta and Columbia universities, is set to offer a memorable golf experience while providing players with the opportunity for life and career development.

The tournament field features Augusta University, Charleston Southern University, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, East Tennessee State University, Georgetown University, Georgia Southern University, Illinois State University, Kennesaw State University, Oakland University, University at Albany, and University of Delaware.

"I am so excited for the ladies to have the opportunity to compete in a very prestigious event at a great golf course. The ANNIKA Foundation does a tremendous job of making these tournaments a great opportunity for personal and professional growth for the young women invited," stated Head Coach Heather Fortushniak.

Since 2014, the ANNIKA Foundation has annually hosted the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M, a women's college tournament featuring 12 top Division I schools. It recently announced the new More Than Golf Invitational for top Mid-Major Conference women's teams to be conducted at Old Barnwell, starting in 2025. The individual medalist in the More Than Golf Invitational will be awarded up to three complimentary entries into the 2025 ANNIKA Women's All Pro Tour.

"We're very proud of this event because it will give these young women unforgettable experiences, life lessons, career guidance, and incredible golf memories," said Annika, founder of the ANNIKA Foundation. "We are thrilled to launch this event next year at Old Barnwell, a venue that shares our values and has been a great partner to us with the ANNIKA Development Program."

Annika Sörenstam, a Swedish professional golfer, created the ANNIKA Foundation to develop, empower and advance young women around the world through golf and in life. More specifically, it provides opportunities in women's golf at the junior, collegiate and professional levels while teaching young people the importance of personal development, including living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition. In addition to the competition, this event aims to facilitate networking and mentorship opportunities for the players. The tournament will feature a College-Am and reception for the entire teams and College-Am groups at Old Barnwell on March 27 as well as an Executive Women's reception and dinner on March 28. This gathering will provide a unique opportunity for more than 20 selected executive women to share life and career advice with the student-athletes.
