Hemmila Shines in Opening Match as Women's Golf Places Sixth at A-Ga-Ming Invite

KEWADIN, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies finished up a trio of rounds on the course as they closed out the A-Ga-Ming Invitational on Labor Day.

After a total of 54 holes of golf, Oakland finished in sixth place as a team. Sophomore Olivia Hemmila led the way for the squad, placing third individually at +8. She only got better as the tournament went on, starting at +6 in the opening round, before shooting +2 in the second and even in the third and final round.

Lily Bargamian (+22), Grace Boczar (+23), and Nateda Her (+23) also finished in the top 40 for the Golden Grizzlies.

After a solid opening to the season, the Golden Grizzlies will stay in-state for their next match as they participate in the Mary Fossum Invite on Sept. 22-23, hosted by Michigan State University.
