Brandon Heidal double brought him to third.
Carter Hain brought Day home for Oakland's first run on the inning and didn't look back from there.
Â
Another full count walk, this time by
Ian Cleary, juiced the bases with no outs. Back-to-back wild pitches brought in a pair of runs to take the lead, followed by a two-run RBI single from
Sam Griffith to cross five across the plate and take the lead, 5-2, after two. Both teams were held scoreless in the third before the Raiders retook the lead in a four-run fourth inning.
Â
The Golden Grizzlies jumped ahead though in the sixth inning as Cleary and
Trent Rice put themselves in scoring position, as Rice continued to add to his record-breaking streak with a steal to second.
Sam Griffith sent a deep single through the middle to bring both runners home and jump ahead, 7-6. The Raiders, however, answered with a home run in the seventh to knot things up at seven apiece. Wright State kept it up in the inning as three more runs came across the plate to put it ahead, 10-7.
Â
The Golden Grizzlies didn't count itself out though as Nigh led off with a double in the seventh, followed by a deep shot from Day to bring both himself and Nigh home. Now down one, it set Heidal up for his own home run the next at-bat to tie the game up once again, this time at 10 each. Rice kept the bats hot as he hit the third home run of the inning, followed by a Bussey RBI, as Oakland retook the lead with two innings to go, 12-10.
Â
The Raiders inched closer in the eighth as it made it a one-run game, but the Golden Grizzlies answered with three of its own, courtesy of both a Heidal and
Gavin Arseneau single. Wright State kept up though as it scored a run in the ninth and loaded up the bases with one out.
