ROCHESTER, Mich. - After a huge week in Oakland Athletics, Men's Basketball's
Jack Gohlke and Track and Field's Madeline Richman use a pair of victories to earn the OU Prairie Farms Student-Athlete of the Week awards.
On the track, Richman dominated in two events as the Golden Grizzlies traveled to Transylvania University at the Pioneer Invite on Saturday. She took home first place in the women's 1500m race with a time of 4:51.94. She also earned a top five finish in the 800m race, clocking a time of 2:24.88 to earn fourth place.
Gohlke earned the hearts of America during Oakland's March Madness run for Men's Basketball, opening their first round tournament game with a 32-point outburst on 10-20 shooting from three, tying the second most threes ever hit in a NCAA Tournament game, as Oakland upset no. 4 Kentucky 80-76. After helping Oakland advance to the Round of 32 for the first time in program history, he dropped 22 points in the second round game against N.C. State where Oakalnd fell 79-73 in overtime.
