HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Golden Grizzlies dropped its second-straight league contest as it fell against the Northern Kentucky Norse, 6-2, at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex.

The Golden Grizzlies (6-12, 0-2 HL) tallied a duo of hits from a pair of players as Reggie Bussey knocked down two, with the teams sole double, as Brandon Heidal tabbed two hits. Jack Lux was the only Golden Grizzly to bat in a run as he accounted for the Golden Grizzlies two runs off a home run.

The Norse (10-8, 2-0 HL) were led by Clay Brock on the mound as he pitched five scoreless innings with no runs earned. Offensively, the Norse got hits from seven separate players, with five recording at least two hits, as four batters batted in at least a run.

The Golden Grizzlies grabbed four hits after its three innings at bat and held the Norse to just one in its first two innings. Oakland juiced the bases in the top of the third with only one out, but Northern Kentucky got out of the inning following a strikeout and groundout.

The difference maker in the game came in the bottom of the third, as the Norse loaded two on and were brought home from a triple, followed up by another triple to quickly make it 3-0. Northern Kentucky tacked on another run right after, for four runs in three at-bats, as it carried a 4-0 lead after three.

The Golden Grizzlies nearly tacked on its first run the following inning as Heidal made his way 90 feet from home but was left stranded. The defense came up big in the bottom half of the inning as the Norse placed two runners in scoring position, but a ground out got the Golden Grizzlies out of the inning unscathed.

It wasn't until the eighth where the Golden Grizzlies started to march back as Lucas Day was walked to first as Lux brought in himself and Day as he hit one far towards left field for a home run. The Norse ended the inning on its next two at-bats and proceeded to match the Golden Grizzlies runs with a pair of its own to put Oakland down four with three outs left.
