ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Women's Soccer will take on Northern Illinois University on Sunday, August 27 at 1:00 pm as the team looks to rebound from a loss on Thursday night.

On Thursday, the 1-2-0 Golden Grizzlies suffered a 7-0 defeat to No. 18 Northwestern University in a rematch of a defensive stalemate from 2022 in Rochester.
Oakland had one shot attempt in the team's loss to Northwestern University on Thursday night behind
Morgan Kaiser.
Macey Wierenga still leads the squad with three points off a goal and an assist earlier in the season, just ahead of
Anuhea Aluli who has two.
In goal,
Hayley Lindow has appeared in two of the three contests with 12 saves on nine goals allowed for a save percentage of .571.
Julia Zangerl came into goal during the 10-player power struggle over Eastern Michigan University with four saves.
Through the first three games of the regular season, the Golden Grizzlies currently average 4.3 shots per game with 13 shots on goal total.
Following Sunday's game, Oakland will stay on the road for Ohio State University on Thursday, August 31, and Illinois State University on Sunday, September 3.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
At 2-1-0 coming into Sunday's game, Northern Illinois blanked Eastern Illinois University 3-0 in DeKalb on Thursday as they outshot the Panthers 18-4. Goals came from Lea Greunnagel, Tyra King, and Isabel Struble to inflate the goals average to three on the year.
Prior to Thursday's win, NIU's Ambert Best put up five shots with two on goal for two points along with Struble, Sarah Roy, and Greunnagel to lead the team. With goals from Struble and Greunnagel, this puts them just ahead with four points on the team.
Sadie McGill has started all three games in goal with six saves through three games. As a whole, the Huskies' defense holds opponents to seven shots a game.
NIU is 2-0 versus Oakland with the last meeting coming in 2009.
