Thirteen Golden Grizzlies Named to #HLSD All-Academic Team

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Horizon League has named 13 Oakland Swim and Dive athletes to All-Academic Team following their combined efforts in the classroom and in the lanes.

With the team's scholarly GPA, alongside their determination they are demonstrating academic achievement and consistency throughout the season representing Oakland with a championship mindset.

The athletes named to the Women's All Academic team include Kiera Brough, Susan LaGrand, Sohvi Nenonen, and Jordyn Shipps. These swimmers are known for their excellent performances in their individual respective events as well as contributing to speedy relay events. Additionally the Honorable Mention Team includes four more respectable student athletes including diver Ellie Chalifoux, and swimmers Taylor Bailey, Julia Cook, Sophia Davis, and Jillian Rice who have made a crucial impact on the teams success with their individual performances throughout the season.

On the flip side, the swimmers named to the Men's All Academic team include Christian Bart, and Sam McKenzie who are known for their remarkable times in the breaststroke and relay events. And notably, the Honorable Mention Team adds two more Golden Grizzlies including Marko Khotynetskyi and Ben Rojewski, two swimmers who have continued to show that they are a key part of the team by adding their individual skills to the competition pool.

The Golden Grizzlies are currently at the CSCAA National Invitational Competition as well as NCAA Zones Diving competition in Indiana. Follow along our page for more updates as competition progresses.
