Dearborn Fordson's Nour Aoude becomes latest member of men's soccer's 2023 recruiting class

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Joining goalkeeper Wyatt Appelt and midfielders Carson Ballagh and Ali Jaffer, Dearborn Fordson Tractor Nour Aoude became the fourth member of the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's soccer 2023 recruiting class on Thursday, February 9.

A fellow midfielder, the 5-foot-8, 145-pound Aoude also played for Oakland assistant coach Mike Lupenec's Vardar MLSNEXT U19 Academy Team and is excited and thankful for the opportunity to continue his academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.

"I am very honored to receive this opportunity to play Division I soccer at a high-level school," Aoude said.

"I want to thank God, my family, friends and coaches for helping me reach this point, and especially, a huge thanks to Coach Pogue and Coach Doroh for believing in me. Go Grizzlies!"

Identifying Aoude while he was playing for Lupenec in Fall 2022, head coach Eric Pogue is optimistic about the variety of skills he brings to the club and sees a path where he could be a contributor early in his Oakland tenure.

"Nour is an exciting and dynamic addition for Fall 2023," Pogue shared. "A wide attacking player with great technical skill, vision and dynamic playmaking ability, we have high hopes for Nour that he can come in and compete to be an impact player from Day 1 this August.

"He's a very ambitious player that works extremely hard to improve his game, as well as being a strong student academically off the field. Nour had a strong desire from the onset to be a Golden Grizzly, so it's an ideal fit."

Eager to make a run at competing for another Horizon League Championship, Aoude and his Oakland teammates will begin their Fall 2023 campaign in August.
