Golden Grizzlies Fall to Broncos in Weekend Matchup

Box Score ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland Women's tennis team finished their first of two competitions this weekend resulting in a loss to Western Michigan 0-7.

The team competed in a total of six singles competitions and three doubles competitions against the Broncos. Six of the ten athletes on the team saw action this Friday in singles play including, Liza Mladentseva (0-6, 4-6), Jillian Milano (3-6, 2-6), Yasmin Glazbrook (1-6, 1-6), Nirva Patel (6-7 (4-10), 3-6), Isabelle Popma (1-6, 1-6), and Tegan Heaton (4-6, 3-6). Additionally, going into doubles play, pairings included Glazbrook and Patel (4-6), Mladentseva and Milano (4-4, unfinished), and Popma and Heaton (1-6). Despite their efforts, the Golden Grizzlies fell short to the Broncos this afternoon in both singles and doubles matches to round out the afternoon.

The Golden Grizzlies will return to the court tomorrow on the road against Toledo at 1:00 pm.
