Kansas City, Mo. - Oakland Soccer Star
Mikey Ketteman adds another layer to his resume, as he has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Second Team.
The All-Regional teams choose the top players from across all Division I programs at each position. Ketteman is just one of five players from the Horizon League to make an All-Regional Team, and one of only three players from the league to be named to All-Second Team or higher.
The fifth year senior from Portage, MI, was a standout in the Horizon League during the 2023 season. He scored a team-high eight goals on the season, good enough for second among all Horizon League players. The aggressive forward was always a threat to score and open a big lead for the Golden Grizzlies, erupting for multi-goal games twice this season against Cleveland State (09/09/2023) and Purdue Fort Wayne (10/07/2023). He also tallied three assists on the season, showing he is an all-around player.
The captain of the Oakland squad was named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Year, as well as All-League First Team for his offensive skill. Ketteman was an instrumental part of the League runner-up run by the Golden Grizzlies, who took their season all the way to the Horizon League Championship game.
