Rochester, Mich. - After a week of personal and meet records being shattered, Ke'vina Finch from Women's Track and Field and
Jonas Cantrell from Men's Swimming and Diving have been named OU Prairie Farms Student-Athletes of the Week!
Finch, a freshman from Sterling Heights, MI, started her college career and the Indoor Track and Field season with incredible pace. Kicking off the season at the SVSU Holiday Open, she placed third in the 60-meter dash, setting a personal record with a time of 7.79 seconds. She wasn't done there though, the freshman standout also sped her way into second place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.23 seconds.
Cantrell, also a Michigan native from Holt, MI, had his own-record breaking week. The 6'2 junior set a meet and pool record at the Zippy Invitational at Akron for the 500-yard freestyle race where he secured his fourth win of the season with a time of 4:18.47, recording the third best time among any student-athlete at a mid-major school this season (37th best among all DI times). He also earned second place in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in a time of 1:36.11, and adding a fourth place finish (15:49.91) in the mile-swim to close out the weekend.
