ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies Esports team continues its strong fall season and has moved on to the NACE National Top 8 Showdown in both Overwatch and Super Smash Bros.

The No. 10 seed Oakland Golden Grizzlies played upset to No. 7 seed Shenandoah University Nov. 7th, as the team moved on to the round of eight after an impressive 3-1 win.
Brad 'Frothy Filly' Husk,
Domenic 'Krawi' Akrawi,
Ryan 'Aerospace' Kovacs and
Matthew 'Jax' Jurj bound together to come out on top in the best-of-five series. The team nearly swept Shenandoah, but the Hornets squeaked by, 3-2, in game three to force a fourth which the Golden Grizzlies took care of business.

The Golden Grizzlies were one of two teams in the round of 16 to upset its opponent and are now set to face off against No. 2 seed Fisher. Fisher comes in also with a 3-1 game win in the round previous, edging past Wichita State. The quarterfinal matchup will take place today (Tues.) at 8:30 p.m. ET. All information can be found

Rank No. 4 heading into the Smash Bros. tournament Nov. 9th, it was No. 13 Shenandoah that almost played upset in the best-of-three series.Â
Anthony 'Anthony Isn't Cool' Codd,
Pablo 'Avien' Avila,
Robert 'Rob' Rabinowitz and
Tristan 'Triscuit' Toma dropped game one and rallied to take game two which put it all on the line for the final game. In a thrilling matchup, Codd helped the Golden Grizzlies seal the deal in a game that went down-to-the-wire. Both Codd and his opponent were down to one life each and battled before Codd got the job done and booted his character out of the arena to cap the nail-biting series.

Oakland will now take on Manchester University, the No. 12 seed, that upset and swept North Dakota State in the round of 16. The quarterfinal matchup is set for Nov. 16th at 8:30 p.m. ET. All information can be found
