ROCHESTER, Mich. -- After trailing 2-1, the Oakland volleyball won the final two sets to defeat Purdue Fort Wayne, 3-2 Tuesday from the OU Credit Union O'rena on Pride Night to complete the series sweep.

The Golden Grizzlies (14-10, 8-4 HL) dropped sets one (25-22) and three (26-24) but were able to edge out the Mastadons, 25-22 in the second set. It was all Oakland in the final two sets, as the Golden Grizzlies dominated set four, 25-10, and closed out set five 15-11 to secure the win. Oakland hit an impressive .393 in set four, compared to PFW's -.125 to carry the momentum into the final set.

Libby Gentile had a team-best 19 kills hitting at an impressive .485 clip, while
Patti Cesarini recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 15 digs. Freshman
Gentry Brown rounded out Oakland's double-digit kill performers with 14 of her own, tying a career best.

Emily Wichmann recorded a game-high 28 digs, Cesarini and
Kennedy Dolmage tallied 15 and 11 respectively. The Golden Grizzlies were a force at the net as
Ainsley Guse (5),
Christina Bohm (4), and
Ella Martin (3) paced Oakland defensively with a number of momentum-changing blocks.
Rachel Rossman added a double-double with 26 assists, adding 11 digs.
Sarah Turner tallied a team-best 28 assists, chipping in nine digs on the night.
Oakland had a 82-73 edge in digs, blocks (10-8) and assists (64-55). The Mastadons had five service aces and seven errors, while the Golden Grizzlies had eight aces and five errors.Â
Panna Ratkai had a game-high 25 kills for Purdue Fort Wayne (8-16, 3-9 HL), while Taya Haffner registered 50 assists on the night.Â

Oakland will continue its homestand with Northern Kentucky on Friday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. followed by Wright State on Saturday for Volleyween beginning at 4 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
