Western Michigan resides in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the Golden Grizzlies played the Broncos last fall, dropping a 3-0 decision in Rochester on October 18.
Indiana Tech and Lawrence Tech both belong to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level.
Eager to return to Horizon League Championship-contending form in the fall, Oakland has had a successful offseason as seniors
Ville Ahola,
Finn Jurak,
Mikey Ketteman,
Reid Sproat and
Micah Sonnenberg all announced they will take advantage of their additional year of eligibility and return to the program in 2023.
Goalkeeper Michael Sly, Jr. and forward
Zach Townsend, both redshirt freshmen, turned in promising campaigns in 2022 for the Golden Grizzlies, as well, with Sly earning a spot on the Horizon League All-Freshman Team and Townsend starting six of the final seven matches and tallying his first collegiate goal in the November 2 victory over the Northern Kentucky Norse.
