HOWEY IN THE HILLS, Fla. – Oakland University Women's Golf secured the 2022 Horizon League Women's Golf Championship on Tuesday as a multitude of top-tier performances paved the way for postseason competition.

The Horizon League individual championship belongs to Amalia Shahzan after completing the 73 par, 6051 yard course in 212 (72-70-70) as the only woman to finish under par at -7.

Nateda Her will finish the three-day championship in seventh overall after compiling a score of 229 (77-72-80) to finish plus-10 while her teammate, Ashley Chinn, finished in a tie for 20th at 235 (+16). 

Rounding out the top five for the championship-winning team for Oakland Veronica Haque and Emily Fleming  in a tie for 27th and a tie for 31st with scores of 242 and 244, respectively. 

The Golden Grizzlies amassed a score of 915 (306-296-313) to finish plus-39 ahead of Green Bay in second at 925 (+49) and Cleveland State in third at 927 (+51), respectively. This is the second league title for Oakland while in the Horizon League.

Oakland will await its fate in the NCAA Women's Golf Championship as the team will eagerly watch the Selection Show set to take place on Wednesday, April 27 at 4:00 p.m. eastern time for the team's destination in the NCAA Regionals.
