HUNTINGTON, W.Va. --The Oakland Golden Grizzlies took a 10-9 lead into the ninth inning, but could not hold on and fell 13-10 to the Marshall Thundering Herd Saturday.
Ben Paugh (0-0) took the loss on the mound for Oakland (2-7).
Senior Seth Tucker led the way offensively for the Golden Grizzlies, going 4-for-5 in the ballgame with a double, a home run, a walk and an RBI. Ian Cleary compiled a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk and four RBIs. Thomas Green also chipped in, going 1-for-3 for Oakland with a home run, two walks and an RBI.
Game two of the doubleheader is in the ninth inning, with Oakland leading 10-4 but was paused due to darkness. The last inning will be played at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

The Golden Grizzlies lost despite scoring in six different innings in the ballgame, last holding the lead in the ninth inning at 10-9. Oakland's biggest output came in its four-run eighth inning. The Golden Grizzlies got a grand slam from Cleary off junior Cole Agemy to cash in their four runs in the frame.
