HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- In game two of a four-game series, Marshall Thundering Herd blanked the Oakland Golden Grizzlies 7-0.
Brandon Decker got the ball to start for Oakland (2-6) and took the loss. Hunter Pidek was a bright spot for the Golden Grizzlies, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 1.2 shutout innings, allowing one hit, with no walks and one strikeout.
In the batter's box, the Golden Grizzlies were paced by freshman John Lauinger, who went 1-for-2 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Oakland managed zero chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position. The Golden Grizzlies last got a runner on third in the eighth, when Brandon Nigh made it 90 feet away from scoring with two outs.
