RIO VERDE, Ariz. - Oakland is tied for 12th after day one of competition at the Rio Verde Invitational. 

Amalia Shahzan leads for the Golden Grizzlies and is tied for 12th after shooting 74 (+2) and tallying three birdies. 

Veronica Haque is tied for 27th, totaling 76 (+4), while Nateda Her tied for 48th after shooting a 79 (+7). Ashley Chin is tied for 78th with an 84 (+12) in round one, followed by Sydney Martens with 86 (+14). 

Oakland totaled 313 (+25) on day one and is tied with Akron and Wichita State.
