SIGHTS SET FOR ROBERT MORRIS MATCHUP ON FRIDAY

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland will finalize its regular season road schedule on Friday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the UPMC Events Center on the campus of Robert Morris University against the Colonials with the "Voice of the Golden Grizzlies'' Neal Ruhl on TheBet 1270AM (WXYT-AM) and on the Audacy App.

At 6-18 overall, Robert Morris has gone 4-8 since this season's first meeting back on December 30 of 2021. This stretch included Horizon League "upsets" at home against Northern Kentucky and others. Overall, the Colonials are 4-7 at the UPMC Events Center this year. 

Kahliel Spear is the team's leader in scoring at 13.9 points per game followed by Rasheem Dunn at 12.8. Spear also leads the team in rebounds with 8.8 a contest The Colonials are coming off a 79-62 loss to Detroit Mercy on Wednesday as Spear finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Andrew Toole is the Pat Gallagher Head Coach who is now in his 12th season at the helm as the Colonials settle into their second year in the Horizon League.

Jamal Cain picked up his 12th double double of the year with 20 points and 11 rebounds to inflate his average to 19.5 points and 10.4 boards per game. Cain has now climbed up to 13th in the NCAA in total double doubles this season. 

Jalen Moore is second in the nation in assists per game at 8.0 after picking up a team-high nine in the loss to Youngstown State on Wednesday. Moore finished with 19 points in that game, his fifth-most this season.

Trey Townsend is still first in the Horizon League in FG% at 54.2% (143-264) after finishing with nine points and nine rebounds against YSU. Townsend now averages 15.1 and 5.9 points and rebounds per game, respectively. 

The Golden Grizzlies score 17.4 points off turnovers this year, forcing an average of 15 per game from its opponents. 

Oakland still has the best scoring margin in the league at 7.5 while averaging 76.1 points per contest. The team does an excellent job of limiting its opponents from range as the team holds them to 28.6% from behind the arc. As the best team in the league, OU is fifth in the country in free throw percentage at 79.73% (358-449). 

OU is now 126th down from 119th in the NCAA NET Rankings still ahead of prominent power five programs while the Golden Grizzlies are 81st in the NCAA RPI according to CBS Sports.

Oakland is 16th in the latest Mid Major Top 25 Poll by College Insider. 

The Golden Grizzlies are now 134th in kenpom.com rankings playing the 8th toughest out of conference schedule in the nation.

Once again, Jamal Cain sees himself in the mix of national attention with the grad student from Pontiac in more than one category.

ONE THE BEST IN THE NATION
Yuri Collins of Saint Louis has overtaken the top spot in the NCAA's leader in assists per game as Moore stands second with 8.0 per game.

OAKLAND DROPS THIRD STRAIGHT
With the 78-71 loss to Youngstown State, Oakland has now fallen three-straight times in its latest games, the longest stretch this season.

WEAR THE COLORS
Through its 24 games played, Oakland is 5-1 when playing on the road in its gold uniforms this season with the only loss coming at NKU. The Golden Grizzlies are 5-6 when wearing all black, the most notable win coming in that set with the upset over Oklahoma State. 

PRICE + LAMPMAN FROM DEEP
Osei Price is shooting 42.6% (23-54) while Lampman shoots 37.3% (50-134) with the most attempts. These two are the team's leaders off the bench as Lampman returned to the team last Saturday as the sophomore went 4-8 from range against Wright State. 

MINISTER OF DEFENSE
Micah Parrish has 33 takeaways with six blocks total on the year from the Detroit native with an average of 6.2 rebounds and 10.5 point per game, respectively. Parrish tallied a career-high 20 points against NKU. 

MID-MAJOR SUCCESS
Oakland dropped a spot to 16th in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll as voted on by Mid-Major tier coaches in the February 7 edition of the poll.

LAST FOUR

(at) Youngstown State, February 9, L, 78-71 
Oakland dropped its third-straight Horizon League game at the Beeghly Center with Cain grabbing his twelfth double double of the year, leading the team with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Moore was just behind with 19 points and nine assists. 

(at) Wright State, February 5, L, 75-64
The Golden Grizzlies dropped their second-straight Horizon League contest in back-to-back days as Cain recorded his eleventh double double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. OU is now 9-3 in Horizon League play. 

(at) NKU, February 4, L, 87-78
Moore drained a three-pointer from the longship decal at BB&T Arena at the buzzer to force overtime but the extra five minutes were not enough as OU dropped their second Horizon League game to the Norse. Moore finished with 24 points, Parrish a career-high 20.

(vs) UIC, January 29, W, 81-74
Cain's 26 points propelled Oakland over the feisty flames as six lead changes forced fans to hold their breaths inside the O'rena. OU ultimately picked up its ninth Horizon League win with Townsend scoring 22 points to follow Cain's 12 rebounds.

PRICE IS "MR. PERFECT"
According to Stats by STAT, Osie Price's 7-7 FG, 5-5 3PT, and 8-8 FT stat line from Oakland's game against University of Michigan-Dearborn makes him the only person in the last 20 years in the NBA, WNBA, NCAA Division I, II, and III to finish 100% from the field with at least five attempts in each category. 

1000 POINT CLUB
Cain tallied his 1,000th point in his collegiate career with his 26 scored in the win over UIC on Saturday, January 29. Cain's thousand points carry over from his time at Marquette University as the grad transfer finishes his collegiate playing career at Oakland,.

A SPECIAL FRIDAY NIGHT
Chris Conway's previous career high in points was two points ahead of OU's game with Ohio Christian. The Naperville, Illinois native earned his first career double double with 22 points and ten rebounds as Trey Townsend got his second double double of the year with 26 points (a career high) and 10 rebounds as well. Emmanuel Newsome made his first start of the season Friday as well tallying eight points, five rebounds, and a steal.

BATTLE IN LITTLE CAESARS ARENA
Moore tallied a double-double in the team's 90-78 loss to Michigan State University with 25 points and 11 assists to his name as Cain notched his second straight contest with 20 or more points, his sixth overall of the season. The squad shot 43.9% (25-57) from the field as the team faces its first, and albeit short, losing streak of the season at two games. 

FUN IN THE SUN
Oakland secured the Gulf Coast Showcase title with wins over Vermont, Rice, and Delaware. All three of OU's victories were decided by eight points or less. The tournament took place at Hertz Arena in Estero, Fla. and featured eight mid-major teams. The winner of the MTE has advanced to postseason play in six of its eight years of existence.

UPSET IN STILLWATER
The Golden Grizzlies earned a 56-55 victory at Oklahoma State in their second game of the season. Moore scored the final seven points for OU in the win. The upset was Oakland's 12th career win over a Power 5 program.

GOOD TO BE HOME
Oakland rolled past Toledo, 80-59, in its home opener at the Athletics Center O'rena. OU outscored Toledo 49-27 in the second half, which snapped a four-game losing skid to the Rockets. Cain exploded for 29 points, 17 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks, while sophomore guard Blake Lampman had a career night, scoring 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting from outside the arc. Moore had a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists.

BACK FOR ANOTHER RUN
Kampe enters his 38th season at the helm of the Oakland men's basketball program. He is the third-longest tenured active coach in Division I, only behind Jim Boeheim (Syracuse, 45 seasons) and Mike Krzyzewski (Duke, 41 seasons). Kampe's 650 career wins rank 12th among active Division I coaches.

PUTTING OAKLAND ON THE MAP
Kampe joined Oakland in 1984 after six seasons as an assistant coach at Toledo (1978-1984). Formerly known as the Pioneers, OU had only six winning seasons in 16 years of competition before his arrival.
