Men's Golf Adds to 2023-24 Roster with Two Signees

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Director of Men's and Women's Golf/Head Men's Coach Nick Pumford has announced the 2023 Men's Golf recruiting class signees.
Robert Burns (Flushing, MI) and Ben Willis (Sunderland, England) will be wearing the Black and Gold for the Golden Grizzlies next season.

"Robert and Ben will bring us some big-time firepower next season that will mesh nicely with the pieces we currently have in place." says Pumford. "They've shown the ability to go low at national and worldwide events against top competition and aren't afraid to stand on the first tee against the nation's best.

Burns comes to the Golden Grizzlies from Flushing, MI and is one of the state's top prospects. Robert has been an all-state golfer the last two seasons, including being on the super team last season (top 7 players in high school golf) He also notched his first AJGA win this past summer, winning the UHY series event at Forest Lake.

"Robert has that moxy that we are looking for in our players." says Pumford. His game isn't flashy but he has an incredible short game and hits a lot of fairways. That combination is going to serve him well at the collegiate level."

"We are constantly talking about professionalism and doing things the right way in our program and Ben brings an unbelievable amount of professionalism and competitiveness. He is going to thrive in our culture and push his teammates to be better."
