Oakland Improves #HLVB Standing After 3-0 Sweep of RMU

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Volleyball picked up the squad's tenth win on the year, advancing to 10-16, 6-8 in #HLVB play with a 3-0 sweep of Robert Morris Tuesday night in the Athletics Center O'rena.

The first set would go into extras as the Golden Grizzlies would hold their own as the frame would be knotted up 15 different times throughout the beginning stages of play. Patti Cesarini and Madison Ross would kick things off and fight through the gritty Colonials defense as the game would find itself at 23-22 in favor of RMU.

Cesarini and a service ace would put the Golden Grizzlies at set point while another RMU kill would bring it back down, guarenteeing the set would go to extras at 24-24. When the pressure was on the line, it was Clarke Adams followed by an attacking error by the visitors that gave the Golden Grizzlies the 26-24 set one win.

A 3-1 stretch out of the gate in the second frame by Oakland's Cesarini would provide a small lift as the game would continue through, finding itself with Robert Morris up 7-6. At 13-12 in the way of the blue and red, the Golden Grizzlies would throw in a insurmountable 15-1 run to win the second 25-14.

With the game at two sets to none, a 7-1 run down the stretch would effectively end the match in a sweep as Libby Gentile, Adams, and one final slam by Jessica Riedl would put things away at 25-15 in the third set.
