ROCHESTER, Mich. - Noah Bickford and Kevin Hubbell will join the 2022 Oakland men's soccer roster announced by Head Coach Eric Pogue.

A center back from Milton, Ontario, Canada, Bickford will bring a solid defensive presence to the 2022 roster. With his club soccer team, Bickford was a three-time provincial champion. Off the soccer field, he maintained a spot on the Honor Roll in all semesters of high school.
"Noah is a big addition for us at center back, both literally and figuratively. At 6'4 and growing, Noah is an athletic specimen with great size, speed, quickness, jumping ability & strength. We think his potential is limitless, and he'll compete immediately for time in our backline this Fall," Pogue said. "Noah is also an exceptional student and carries all the intangible qualities that are so important to the overall success of Oakland Men's Soccer."

"There were a number of post-secondary soccer opportunities that presented themselves. After speaking to Coach Pogue, seeing the success of the program he's built, and attending an on-campus ID camp, Oakland University became my top priority. I'm thrilled to commit to Oakland and start my 4-year journey as a Golden Grizzly."

2. Business Program
3. Geographical location

A winger from Honor, Michigan, Hubbell has already started to make himself known nationally in the soccer world. The incoming freshman is currently the national record holder for most goals in a game and is ranked third for most consecutive hat tricks. Hubbell also holds a spot on the 2022 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Team. Off the field, Hubbell was part of the National Honors Society at Benzie Central Highschool.
"Kevin is someone that has been high on our radar from our ID Camps, as well as the ODP State, Regional & National Teams. He's a very quick, dynamic, strong, powerful attacking threat out on the wing that knows how to score goals, and he'll cause fits for opposing team defenders," Pogue said. "Additionally, Kevin checks all the intangible boxes that we look for at Oakland Soccer and will fit in immediately with our guys—on the field, off the field, in the classroom, and in the community."

"There were a few different options I had going into making a difficult decision. All were great choices, but after reflecting on what I thought was most important to me, I realized that Oakland was where I wanted to be. With its beautiful campus, amazing soccer facilities, and the hard-working coaching staff that I, fortunately, have been able to know for a year now, I knew that I had to pick Oakland. Oakland is a team built for success, that's what they strive for, and that's something I truly want to be a part of. I am extremely excited about my future with Oakland, and I'm proud to say I'm going to be a Golden Grizzly."
