JENSEN EARNS UNITED SOCCER COACHES SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA FIRST TEAM HONORS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Oakland men's soccer infielder Noah Jensen has earned 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches Men's NCAA Division I Scholar All-America first team honors after earning a 3.70 overall GPA and perfect 4.00 GPA last semester while majoring in Actuarial Science. Jensen also garnered 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's Scholar All-Region honors.
 
Last week, Jensen, a senior from Courtice, Ontario, Canada, became the first men's soccer student-athlete in program history to earn United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's All-America second team honors in the Division I era.
 
He also was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region first team and was named one of 15 men's soccer national semifinalists for the United Soccer Coaches Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy, the highest individual award presented to a player in intercollegiate soccer.
 
In addition, Jensen was named 2021 Horizon League Player of the Year and earned All-Horizon League first team honors while garnering Horizon League All-Academic Team honors for the second time in his career.
 
Jensen leads the nation in assists (14) and assists per game (1.56) and ranks seventh in the nation while leading the Horizon League in points (22) and second in the country in points per game (2.44). He also ranked third on the team in goals (4) with three coming off penalty kicks.
 
Jensen earned TopDrawerSoccer.com Men's DI Player of the Week honors and was one of 11 student-athletes named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men's DI Team of the Week after having a hand in all four of Oakland's goals scoring the game-winner in the 74th minute while assisting on the other three totaling five points in the thrilling 4-3 win over Milwaukee (3/12). He also recorded three assists against Robert Morris (2/4) and at Green Bay (4/5).

To be eligible for Scholar All-America recognition, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:
3.40 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career
Started more than 50 percent of all games (minimum of seven games) during the season of nomination and be an elite player as supported by playing honors (ie. all-conference) and/or contributions to their team.
Nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution
Junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer student, in second year at school
 
Student-athletes on this year's Scholar All-America Teams will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom at the digital College Awards Ceremony beginning June 30, 2021 on www.unitedsoccercoaches.org.
