DEANS TOSSES COMPLETE GAME GEM LEADING OAKLAND TO DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP

Deans recorded 10 strikeouts in complete-game outing, Paulina hits game-winning home run in 7th inning

DAYTON, Ohio -
 Brandon Deans was straight dealing on the mound picking up his second win of the season going the distance racking up 10 strikeouts allowing only one unearned run on four scattered hits for a 0.00 ERA with three walks in 7.0 innings pitched to lead Oakland to a 2-1 win at Dayton to complete the doubleheader sweep. Reagan Paulina went 2-for-3 with a double while hitting his first career home run in the seventh inning breaking a 1-1 tie. 

Josh Dudden also went 2-for-3 an RBI and second triple of the season. Cam Post also chipped in for Oakland, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.

The Golden Grizzlies got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Oakland got an RBI single from Dudden, scoring junior Jared Miller from third base.

The Flyers then tied the ballgame at 1-1 before the Golden Grizzlies came back to reclaim their advantage in the seventh inning. Oakland picked up a run on Paulina's lead-off home run off of freshman Austin Brush, which brought the Golden Grizzlies lead to 2-1 in the top of the seventh. The Flyers got runners on first and second in the bottom half but Deans slammed the door adding three more strikeouts to secure the complete game win.

» The Golden Grizzlies power output was led by Paulina, who picked up two extra base hits in the ballgame.
» Oakland's highest scoring inning was the seventh, when it pushed one run across.
