HIGH POINT, N.C. — Oakland saw a strong start to the Bill Webb Combined Events & Bob Davidson Memorial Invite. Zach Stadnika took 11th in the javelin throw (158 ft., 0 in.). Demetri Harris took tenth (152 ft., 10 in.) in the hammer throw followed by Kyle Piotrovsky in 15th place (136 ft., 2 in.).  Caleb Timm is in fifth place in the decathlon, heading into Saturday with a score of 3056. 

On the women's side, Gabby Cyriax placed eighth (153 ft., 9 in.) in the hammer throw followed by Jamia Elam in 20th and (122 ft., 4in.) Lauren Christian in 23rd (110 ft., 2 in.). Emily Schaub sits in third place (2671) after day one of the heptathalon followed by Olivia Rademacher in 11th (2159). 

Competition resumes Saturday at 10 a.m.
