ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland women's soccer team will host Green Bay at the Grizz Dome, Wednesday, March 17 at 10:30 a.m. on ESPN+.
Oakland (3-2-1) is coming off a dominating 5-0 win over Robert Morris, earning its second-straight win and second shutout of the season.

Carmela Barro,
Sami Lopez, Ashley Postma and Alexa Sabbagh mark the only four student-athletes from one team to rank in the top 10 in the Horizon League with two or more assists. Lopez and Postma have tallied a league-best five assists on the year while Barro and Sabbagh have recorded two.
Lopez sits third with three goals on the year.
Sabbagh sits eighth in shots on goal (7).

Macey Wierenga all netted their first career goals for Oakland this season, while Barro, Lopez, Sabbagh and
Sophie Wilsey are the other goal-scorers for the Golden Grizzlies. Oakland's seven goal scorers is a league-best.
HIGH-FIVE
Oakland defeated Robert Morris in a commanding 5-0 win from the Grizz Dome last Wednesday. Oakland's five goals marks the first time since the 2017 season the Golden Grizzlies have scored five goals in a game after defeating Chicago State 5-0 on Sept. 4.
RECORD SETTER
Postma tallied four assists last time out agianst Robert Morris, good for second in program history. Postma's helpers tie the effort of Cathy Miniuk and Jenny Grimm who tallied both recorded four assists in different games during the 1995 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Noëmi Stadelmann was named the Nike Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week the league office announced (3/5). The junior recorded her first shutout of the year, and the first for Oakland en route to a 2-0 win over rival Detroit Mercy on the road Wednesday. Stadelmann tallied three saves on the day.The weekly honor marks the first Stadelmann's career.
PRESEASON POLL
Oakland was picked to finish fifth in the 2021 Horizon League women's soccer preseason poll, announced by the league office on Monday and voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.

A LOOK AT LAST YEAR
The Golden Grizzlies finished in sixth place a season ago with a 7-8-3 record, 4-3-2 in Horizon League play. Oakland made it all the way to the semifinals of the Horizon League Championship for the second-straight season before bowing out of the tournament after a 2-1 loss to no. 1 seed and tournament champion, Milwaukee.
OFFENSE ON THE RISE
The Golden Grizzlies netted 21 goals in 2019, a vast improvement from 2018 where Oakland scored 10 goals. It is the most goals Oakland has recorded since the 2016 season, led by
Alexa Sabbagh who tallied seven on the year.
In 18 games, nine Golden Grizzlies recorded at least one goal on the year. Oakland emphasized its ability to work as a team as the Black and Gold registered 27 assists on its 21 goals. An impressive 12 Golden Grizzlies recorded at least one assist, led by sophomore
Sami Lopez with five.
ALL LEAGUE HONORS
Alexa Sabbagh,
Kendra Zak and
Jessica Shears earned Horizon League Women's Soccer All-Conference honors. Sabbagh and Zak were named to the All-Horizon League Second Team, while Shears earned Horizon League All-Freshman Team Honors.
Sami Lopez was named to the 2019 Horizon League All Tournament team after Oakland's semifinal appearance.
