CINCINNATI - Drew Demumbrum hit a three-run home run while
Blake Griffith connected on a two-run single to spark a six-run fifth inning as Oakland rallied from 7-0 down before eventually falling 9-8 as Cincinnati got the game-winning walk-off run in the bottom of the ninth inning on Saturday.
Bobby Cavin also went 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored.
Jordan Jackson also hit 2-for-4 with a run while
Tyler Trovinger,
Mario Camilletti and
Michael Stygles each recorded a hit.
After pulling within a run at 7-6 after the six-run fifth, Oakland took a 8-6 lead as Cavin connected on a RBI single to score Demumbrum followed by a RBI walk by
Cam Post to plate
Ian Cleary in the top of the eighth. However, the Bearcats tied the game at 8-8 with a RBI double in the bottom half.
A pair of throwing errors in the ninth allowed a Cincy runner to score the game-winning unearned run.
Both teams will play a doubleheader of 7-innings games on Sunday, Mar. 1 beginning at 12 p.m.
