INDIANAPOLIS – The Oakland men's golf team was selected second in the Horizon League preseason poll, voted on by the league's eight head coaches.
 
The Golden Grizzlies finished fourth a season ago, with Colin Sikkenga recording his first career top-five finish by carding a 71 (-1) to finish with a total score of 221 (+5), tying for fourth place. Sikkenga was named to the all-tournament team.
 
Oakland will kick off the spring season March 2-3 at the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C. hosted by Michigan State.
 
The 2020 Horizon League men's and women's golf championships will take place April 26-28 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
