CHICAGO – Daniel Oladapo recorded his second-straight double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling down 18 boards as the Oakland men's basketball team fell to UIC, 90-73 from Credit Union 1 Arena Sunday night.

Oladapo went an impressive 9-12 (75 percent) from the floor, adding four steals and three assists on the day.

Trey Townsend and
Jalen Moore recorded double-doubles of their own, the first of their Golden Grizzlies career, tallying 13 points and 10 rebounds and 10 points, 10 assists respectively.

Rashad Williams and
Zion Young rounded out the double-digit performers scoring 20 and 11 points respectively.

Oakland (0-9, 0-2 HL) led for just under two minutes of the game, with its last lead coming at the 14-minute mark of the first half, up 14-12.

UIC (5-2, 2-0 HL) shot well from the start, highlighted by 55 percent from the floor, 50 percent from behind the arc, including nine first half triples.

The Golden Grizzlies entered halftime trailing, 53-35.

UIC was able to maintain control of the game the entire second half, leading by as much as 19.

The Flames made 13 triples compared to Oakland's six, with five of them coming from Williams.

Oakland continued to be a pest on the defensive end, forcing 12 UIC turnovers, scoring 19 points off the Flames' miscues.

After nine-straight road games, Oakland will host Northern Kentucky in its season opener Saturday, Dec. 26 at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday at 3 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN3 and Sunday's game will air on TV20.Â
