Gallery: (12-12-2020) Oakland at #4 Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. –Rashad Williams led the Golden Grizzlies with a season-high 36 points as the Oakland men's basketball team fell to No. 4 Michigan State, 109-91 Sunday afternoon from the Breslin Center.
For the second-straight game, Williams was hot from long range, going 8-of-17 from downtown.
For the sixth-straight game,
Jalen Moore scored in double figures, recording a career-high 26 points on the day, 21 of his points coming in the second half. Moore added five assists and two steals.
The Golden Grizzlies hung with the Spartans (6-0) in the first half, shooting 52 percent (27-of-52) from the floor, 53 percent (8-of-15) from 3-point range. Six of Oakland's eight first-half triples came from Williams.
Oakland was able to hold the Spartans to a 2:39 scoring drought heading into the 7:57 media timeout, trailing 28-24.
The Golden Grizzlies were able to get within one, 34-33 with just under five minutes to play in the half, and headed into halftime trailing MSU 44-40.
Michigan State went on a 14-0 run to take a 59-45 lead with just over 16 minutes left to play. The Golden Grizzlies were able to get within eight, but couldn't chip away at the deficit anymore.
Michigan State led by as much as 27, but a 12-3 Oakland run led by three triples from
Kevin Kangu and one from
Joey Holifield, capped the game at 109-91.
Oakland forced 18 MSU turnovers, scoring 18 points off the Spartans' miscues.
The Golden Grizzlies (0-7) will begin Horizon League play Dec. 19-20 at UIC.
