MOORE LEADS OAKLAND WITH 16 POINTS AS THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES FALL TO TOLEDO

 CINCINNATI, Ohio – Jalen Moore led the Golden Grizzlies with 16 points as the Oakland men's basketball team fell to Toledo Thursday afternoon, 80-53 from the Cintas Center at the Xavier Invitational.
 
Moore's 16 points came from a 50 percent (5-of-10) shooting performance and was paired with four rebounds and two assists. 
 
Daniel Oladapo chipped in 11 points rounding out the double-digit scorers and pulled down four boards. For the second-straight game Micah Parrish led the Golden Grizzlies in rebounds with five.
 
Toledo (1-1) shot 47 percent from downtown and buried 16 triples on the day, nine coming in the first half, as Oakland struggled from behind the arc, going 2-for-23 on the day.
 
After Moore hit a jumper at the 8:55 mark to pull Oakland within four at 19-15, the Rockets went on a 17-1 run over the next five-plus minutes to take a 36-16 lead with a little over three minutes remaining in the first half. The Golden Grizzlies went into halftime trailing 43-20.
 
Nine of Oladapo's 11 points came in the second half, shooting 75 percent from the floor.
 
Oakland was unable to chip away at their deficit, only coming within 18 at 7:41.
 
Oakland will close out the Xavier Invitational Friday against Bradley (1-1) at 3:15 p.m. Fans can watch live on FloHoops or listen on106.7 WLLZ HD-2 or the iHeart Radio app.

As part of the Xavier Invitational, the Golden Grizzlies will also take on Toledo (11/26) and Bradley (11/27)
