EAST LANSING, Mich. --
Lindsay Wightman recorded 22 of Oakland's 49 digs, plus added a pair of assists as the Golden Grizzlies volleyball team fell to Michigan State in three sets Thursday night at Jenison Fieldhouse. Wightman has recorded back-to-back 20-plus dig performances this week.
Megan Hobler led all players with five total blocks, while also adding two kills.
Taylor Dellinger led the Golden Grizzlies offensively with 13 kills and a .476 hitting percentage.
After dropping the first set 25-18, Oakland was all even with MSU at 24-24, but a service error by Dellinger followed by a Spartan service ace sealed set two for Michigan State. The Golden Grizzlies were tied 10-10 midway through the third set, but a 9-1 Spartan run was too much to overcome as Oakland fell 25-17.
The Golden Grizzlies (4-4) will return to the O'rena on Saturday, Sept. 14, hosting Miami (OH) at 4 p.m.
