ROCHESTER, Mich. – Alexa Sabbagh netted the lone goal for the Golden Grizzlies as the Oakland women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Utah Valley in its final exhibition game Saturday night from the Oakland Soccer Field.
 
Utah Valley took an early 1-0 lead after a goal in the 22^nd minute from Julianna Carter.
 
Sabbagh evened things up in the 59^th minute after beating a defender at the top of the box and sailing one into the top right corner.
 
The Golden Grizzly defense had a strong second half allowing just one shot in 45 minutes.
 
Oakland's Noemi Stadelmann and Jaimie Leas split time in net playing the first and second half respectfully, each recording one save.
 
The Golden Grizzlies will open regular season play on the road against Eastern Michigan Thursday, Aug. 22 at 5 p.m.
