ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies played Robert Morris to a 0-0 tie on Sunday. The Golden Grizzlies dominated the possession battle, specifically in the opening half, and finished with a 9-7 edge in shots, while both teams put three attempts on goal.
In the first half,
Norah Schmidt kept RMU off the board with a save on the visitors' first shot in the fifth minute. Oakland's initial offensive push came from 11:40 to 19:43, during which it earned two corner kicks and generated four shots, two from
Ella Shapiro,
Ava Ruffino's strike off the left woodwork, and
Sophie Schultz's shot over the top right.Â
Oakland added another look in the 34th minute when
Brae Cole put a shot on goal that Emma Cameron saved.
Adalyn Cameron came off the bench as a spark in the first half, sending Oakland's final shot of the half wide right in the 41st minute, ending the first half without a goal on either side.
In the second half,
Isabella Bierod gave Oakland an attacking look in the 49th minute, and Oakland followed with a corner kick moments later. The Golden Grizzlies kept the match level through a Colonials push from 54:51 to 64:13, with
Norah Schmidt making back-to-back saves on Morgan Gesinski before Oakland defended two corners and two additional shots.Â
After the RMU stretch, Oakland reapplied pressure, earning another corner in the 69th minute and generated late chances, including Bierod's shot on goal in the 87th minute and a
Bella Haynes attempt shortly after. Neither team scored in the second half, and the match finished 0-0.
Norah Schmidt played all 90 minutes in goal, made three saves, and recorded a shutout.
Ella Shapiro led Oakland with two shots and put one attempt on goal.
Isabella Bierod matched the team high with two shots, including one on goal.
