Jace Matkin hit 2-for-4 with a RBI while
Austin Tangney added a RBI as Oakland fell 14-3 at Central Michigan on Tuesday. DiLeo has now reached base in 31 consecutive games.
Mike McGee and
Blake Griffith accounted for the other two of Oakland's (10-31) five hits.
After CMU (35-12) went ahead 3-0 in the third inning with a sacrifice fly and a two-run home run, DiLeo got Oakland on the board with a RBI single scoring
Mario Camilletti in the top of the fourth. Matkin then reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded scoring DiLeo and pulling the Golden Grizzlies within a run at 3-2.
The Chippewa's responded in the bottom half of the fourth with three runs and added two more in the fifth to move ahead 8-2.
Austin Tangney hit a sacrifice fly to score DiLeo in the top of the sixth. However, the would be the only runs the Golden Grizzlies would get as CMU added six more runs over the next three innings to seal the win.
Oakland resumes league play with a series at Milwaukee starting on Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
