
MILWAUKEE - Mike McGee went 2-for-4 posting four RBI with a three-run double and sacrifice fly while
Mario Camilletti and
Matt DiLeo each had two hits as Oakland was edged, 7-5, by Milwaukee in the series opener on Friday at Henry Aaron Field.
Drew Demumbrum,
Blake Griffith and
Cherokee LeBeau also each recorded at hit while
Jace Matkin added a RBI off a bases loaded walk.
Trailing 1-0 in the second inning, Matkin's bases loaded walk put Oakland (10-31, 8-14 HL) on the board. McGee then cleared the bases with his three-run double to left center field giving the Golden Grizzlies a 4-1 lead.
Milwaukee (28-17-1, 15-9 HL) regained the lead with four runs in the fourth inning and added a run in the sixth and eighth to take a 7-4 lead.
McGee's sacrifice fly scored
Ronnie Krsolovic in the top of the ninth inning which pulled Oakland closer at 7-5 with two outs but the Panthers were able to force a ground out to end the game.
Both teams will play the second game at Miller Park which is the home of the Milwaukee Brewers on Sat. May 11 at 4 p.m. ET.
