
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Beau Keathley posted eight strikeouts allowing only one hit off a bunt and one unearned run in 7.0 innings of work to lead Oakland to a 3-1 victory over Milwaukee clinching the team's third consecutive league series on Sunday at the Oakland Baseball Field.
Austin Sherry picked up his second save of the season going 2.0 innings in relief allowing no hits with four strikeouts.
Myles Zilinsky went 2-for-4 with two RBI while
Cherokee LeBeau and
Ryan Fitzgerald also recorded two hits each.
Mario Camilletti,
Matt DiLeo,
Drew Demumbrum and
Blake Griffith all accounted for one of Oakland's (7-20, 6-6 HL) 10 total hits.
Zilinsky got the Golden Grizzlies on the board drawing a bases loaded walk in the second inning. Camilletti then scored off a wild pitch in the third for a 2-0 lead.
After Milwaukee (16-12, 5-6 HL) cut the lead to 2-1 in the sixth, Oakland got the run back in the eighth as LeBeau hit a double and then scored off a RBI single from Zilinsky.
Sherry retired the side in order to seal the win in the ninth.
Oakland will host Eastern Michigan on Tue., April 9 followed by Central Michigan on Wed. April 10. Both games are slated for a 3 p.m. start.
