HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. --
Chris Handy was one of two players to card a round under par as he shot an opening round of 71 (-1) as the Oakland men's golf team kicked-off the Horizon League Championship Sunday at Mission Inn Resort. Handy is tied for the lead with Green Bay's George Kneiser.
Marc Norton and
Colin Sikkenga each recorded a first round score of 75 (+3) and are currently tied for ninth-place.
Thomas Giroux and
Anthony Comito also carded identical rounds of 79 (+7) and are tied for 23rd-place.
As a team, Oakland recorded a score of 300 (+12) and is currently in second-place, just two strokes behind leader Northern Kentucky.
The second round will begin tomorrow for the Golden Grizzlies at 8:10 a.m.
