
TOLEDO, OHIO - Drew Demumbrum hit 3-for-5 with two RBI, a double and three stolen bases while
Myles Zilinsky also went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a RBI as Oakland fell, 18-9, at Toledo on Tuesday at Scott Park.
Matt DiLeo and
Blake Griffith each went 2-for-4 while
Ronnie Krsolovic belted a two-run homer.
Jace Matkin also added a RBI single.
After falling behind 4-0 in the first inning, DiLeo put Oakland (8-25) on the board with a RBI single. However, the third inning proved to be the difference as Toledo (12-21) plated nine runs to take a commanding 13-1 lead in which the Golden Grizzlies could not recover from.
Demumbrum added an RBI double followed by a sacrifice fly from
Cam Post giving Oakland two runs in the fourth. Krosolovic's two-run shot and Matikin's RBI single in the sixth accounted for three more runs but the Golden Grizzlies still trailed 17-6.
Mario Camilletti scored off an error in the seventh and a RBI double from Zilinsky in the eighth closed out the scoring for Oakland.
The Golden Grizzlies resume league play at UIC on Friday, Apr. 19 at 4 p.m. ET
