
DAYTON, OHIO - Matt DiLeo recorded two hits with three total RBI while
Blake Griffith posted two hits with a RBI along with
Mike McGee who also had two hits with a run scored as Oakland fell in doubleheader action at Wright State, 16-4, 11-3, on Saturday.
Jace Matkin also recorded his first career RBI.
In game one, DiLeo's two-run single gave Oakland (8-24, 6-9 HL) a 2-0 lead. Wright State (25-11, 10-5 HL) tied the game in the bottom of the first and applied the pressure by posting six runs in the second and three more in the third to take control of the game with a 9-2 lead.
Myles Zilinsky scored off an error in the third followed by Matkin's RBI groundout in the fourth was the only other offense the Golden Grizzlies would get.
Oakland once again took 2-0 lead in the first inning in game two off DiLeo's two-run single and RBI double from Griffith. However, WSU tied the game in the bottom half of the frame.
Ronnie Krsolovic gave Oakland a 3-2 lead in the fourth after scoring on passed ball. After re-taking the lead with two runs in the bottom fourth, the Raiders posted another big inning with five runs in the seventh en route to the series sweep.
Oakland travels to Toledo for a non-conference game on Tue., April 16 at 3:05 p.m.
