INDIANAPOLIS -- Marc Norton shot an opening round of 71 (+1) and is tied for seventh place as the Oakland men's golf team finished day one of competition at the Butler Spring Invitational Monday at Highland Golf Club. 

Chris Handy and Thomas Giroux are currently tied for 10th place after each shooting a two-over-par 72 on the day. As a team, the Golden Grizzlies shot 288 (+8) and are in third place heading into the final round.

The tournament was shortened to 36-holes due to inclement weather and the final round of play will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m.
