RICHMOND, Ky. -
Myles Zilinsky recorded a two-run double while Mario Camilletti, Drew Demumbrum, Mike McGee, and Blake Griffith each added an RBI as Oakland could not hold off Eastern Kentucky's late inning rally and came up short, 11-6, on Saturday at Earle Combs Stadium.

Clay Thompson also hit 2-for-4 with a pair of runs while Nick Parr posted five strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work in a no decision effort on the mound.

Zilinsky's two-run double gave Oakland (0-11) the lead in the top if the third inning. EKU (8-5) responded with three runs in the bottom of the third and added another in the fifth to move ahead 5-2.

McGee hit a RBI single followed by a run scoring ground out from Griffith to pull the Golden Grizzlies within one run, 5-4, in the sixth. Camilletti's RBI single and a sacrifice fly from Demumbrum reclaimed the lead at 6-5 in the top of the seventh.

However, with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, EKU got a bases loaded two-run single and added two more unearned runs off a fielding error to take the lead for good at 9-6. The Colonels also added a pair of runs in the eighth while Oakland left two runners stranded on base in both the eighth and ninth inning.

Both teams will conclude the series with a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 10.
