YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -
Drew Demumbrum hit 4-for-6 recording five RBI with a home run, two-run single and clutch two-run double in the top of the 11th inning to lead Oakland to a thrilling 7-5 win earning a doubleheader split at Youngstown State on Saturday night at Eastwood field. The Golden Grizzlies were edged in the first game, 6-5.

Myles Zilinsky, Matt DiLeo, Mario Camilletti, Blake Griffith and Ronnie Krsolovic also each recorded a hit. Austin Sherry picked up the win in relief going 3.2 innings with a strikeout.

With Oakland (1-18, 1-4 HL) trailing 3-2 in the seventh, Demumbrum hit a two-run single followed by DiLeo scoring off a wild pitch giving the Golden Grizzlies a 5-2 lead. YSU (2-19, 1-4 HL) tied the game in the bottom of the frame off a walk and sacrifice fly.

After Zilinski led off the 11th inning with a double, YSU was able to get the next two batters out. DiLeo added a single followed by Demumbrum's clutch two-run double to give Oakland the lead for good.

3-23-19 at YSU DH Final Graphic Game 1

In game one, despite Zilinsky, Camilletti and Jace Matkin each accounting for six of Oakland's 12 hits along with holding YSU to just four hits, errors proved to be the difference.

Oakland jumped out to a 5-0 lead with a run off an error in the second inning and four runs in the third off a RBI fielder's choice from Demumbrum, sacrifice fly from Ryan Fitzgerald, YSU fielding error and RBI single from Zilinsky.

However, two costly errors by the Golden Grizzlies led to four unearned YSU runs in the fifth inning cutting the lead to 5-4.

YSU took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning while holding Oakland scoreless over the final six innings.

The series finale is slated for Sunday, March 24 at 1 p.m.
