
OXFORD, Ohio - Blake Griffith went 4-for-4 with a RBI triple while
Clay Thompson and
Drew Demumbrum each added an RBI as Oakland came up short, 5-3, at Miami in the series finale on Saturday.
Beau Keathley had another solid on the mound allowing only two runs with five strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work.
Ronnie Krsolovic also went 2-for-4 while
Mike McGee adding a hit and run scored.
Oakland took a 1-0 lead in the second inning off Thompson's RBI single. After Miami moved ahead 3-1 with two runs in the fifth and another in the seventh, Demumbrum scored McGee on a sacrifice fly followed by Griffith's triple to draw even at 3-3 in the top of the eighth. However, the RedHawks moved ahead for good in the bottom of the frame off a RBI single which scored two unearned runs.
Oakland opens a series at Eastern Kentucky on Friday, March 8 at 4 p.m.
