Oakland (11-15, 7-6 HL) forced 12 Northern Kentucky (20-6, 10-3 HL) turnovers in the first half, the most turnovers the Golden Grizzlies have forced in a half this season, and led at halftime 36-32.

Northern Kentucky's Drew McDonald hit a three-pointer with just under 17 minutes to play to give the Norse a lead that would not be surrendered as NKU outscored the Golden Grizzlies 47-28 in the second half.

Oakland struggled shooting in the second half going 9-for-24 (38 percent), including 0 of 6 from three-point range. The Norse found success in transition scoring 30 fast-break points while the Golden Grizzlies had just six.

The loss snapped Oakland's unbeaten streak at BB&T Arena (3-1) and is the first loss at NKU since 1981.

Oakland will return to action for its final road swing of the regular season beginning Thursday, Feb. 14 at Green Bay.
